The Gunnison Gorge stretch of the Gunnison river is nicknamed the "Baby Grand" because of the scenery reminiscent of the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River. It is a true wilderness experience. Accessible only by foot or horseback, these clear, cold waters lie beneath the granite walls of the canyon and are designated as Gold Medal Trout waters. The narrow canyon provides for some thrilling whitewater coupled with unique beauty. This trip is limited to only two groups per day permitted. Some guides have additional trips through the Gunnison Valley. It's a great family float trip for all ages.
