The Colorado River begins high in the Rocky Mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park. Interestingly, many people associate whitewater adventures with the Colorado, when actually the river is very mild as it journeys through Colorado. The wilder portions of the River are in the Desert Southwest as it flows through Utah and the Grand Canyon.
